Getting things done...

*Infinity Scarf

Hey All..So I took a knitting class a couple of months ago and am finally getting around to putting it to good use.
Watch out ladies...here's your next birthday/christmas presents! Haha. I am making a couple of scarfs and a infinity scarf

Also I found a Photography Class at an Adult Education Program in PG and it starts on the 22nd. Very excited!

Getting some books at my favorite place at the library in Monterey..(I LOVE it there, will never buy books again) for preparation for my interview.

And last a big CONGRATS to Danielle on her job and embarking on her new career path as a Speech Pathologist!

What's happening in Monterey...

AT&T Celebrity Golf Tournament at Pebble Beach this week! Lots of celebrities in the area (Drew Brees, Kelly Slater, Ray Romano, Maury, Kenny G, Bill Murray...etc). The neighborhood is pretty busy, lots of tourists, lots of planes flying into Monterey airport and a shuttle system throughout Pacific Grove. Maybe I'll add to my collection of photographs of celebrities (cough* Mark Zuckerberg* cough)

Also, going to try Bikram Yoga this week (Yoga in a 105 degree room) I hear it's intense but my new to do is getting us healthy and active (We are going to start training for our 5k next week) I'm throwing away all chocolate (Dan, I had a cupcake from our place last night..gotta splurge) and cheese!

Any suggestions for healthy, delicious meals?

It's official..I'm a GLEEK

So, I've heard about it, read about it but never watched it until I came down with a cold, laid on our couch, flipped through the channels and settled on watching it cause it was the only thing on at 10 am on a Sat morning beside cartoons. Well, I was hooked from the first episode and ended up watching a marathon of GLEE. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the show. It makes me want to sing and dance all the time. I literally feel so excited watching the show. The coolest part...Joe's boss is one of the main Gleek's Aunt (Kurt is his name on the show)
Who has watched this show and who loves it as much as me? Can we have a GLEE night?

Palo Alto, Stanford University, Facebook Headquarters and seeing Mark Zuckerberg

A City Building in San Fran

Stanford
Stanford Football Stadium

Facebook
There is the man!

And again...pictures suck
Very low key building right?

Today was Dan and Lisa's last day in town and we had some time to kill before their flight. Therefore we took a detour to Palo Alto to check out Facebook headquarters and Stanford University. While driving around the Facebook headquarters taking pictures of a very plain building, Mark Zuckerberg starts walking into the building directly in front of us. I yell out the window like a crazed tourist "Can I take your picture, Mark?!?" He just smiled, waved, said hi how are you and walked away. We only got a shot of him walking away from us but it was a very very cool experience. What is so funny is that Dan, Lisa and I do not have Facebook! He seemed really friendly tho. He lives a couple of blocks away in a modest home I hear. He seems very down to earth.
After that cool experience we drove around Stanford University.
I dropped them off at the airport shortly after and then headed to San Fran for some sushi and a walk around the beautiful city. Took some shots around the city.
Sad to see Lisa and Dan go but will see them soon, flying into town in a couple of weeks for my interview.

Family visits!

*Laguna Seca

Hey all,
Dan and Lisa (Joe's brother and sister in law) flew into town Thursday night and spent the night in San Fran. Friday Joe and I drove up north to meet them. On our way we stopped at food stand in Gilroy (home of the Garlic) and got a tri-tip sandwich that was so very good. Once we got into San Fran we went to the Fisherman's Warf and got some Italian food. After dinner we picked up Dennis from the airport (he flew into town for the weekend) and we had a couple of beers back at our hotel and called it a night. Saturday morning we drove down Lombard St (Curvy st in San Fran) and ate at the Buena Vista Cafe. There, we had their famous irish coffee and breakfast.
We then headed up to Napa for a day a wine tasting. We went back to the Arteza winery (Danielle went with us last time) and then the Hess winery. Both wineries have amazing wine and views. After wine tasting we went into town got some burgers went to our hotel room had a hot tub party and went to bed. Sunday we drove back to Monterey, dropped Dennis at the airport in Monterey, and chilled around Pacific Grove. I took Dan and Lisa to Carmel and showed them the beautiful homes and beach. It rained all day so it put a damper on our camping plans. But Monday we spent the morning walking down to Cannery Row then we took a drive down the 1 towards Big Sur. It was the best day for a drive.
Dan and Lisa were suppose to fly out on Tuesday but because of the massive storm they have been delayed and are flying out tomorrow. They went whale watching today! Gray Whales are migrating so hopefully they had some luck.
How is everyone doing?
I have my interview for school on Feb 25th!
Been looking into volunteering for a bunch of things and looking forward to getting into a consistent gym schedule.
Hope all is well.
